Starting with a vision....

At the present moment, the easiest way you can start a business (without risking any infrastructure cost), with an instant revenue flow is to get people to click on Ads hosted by your website. You can sign up with third party ad serving agencies that can post Ads on your website and give you a cut of the profit when users click on these ads. Google Ad sense is one such ad serving network.

Now that you have figured out your revenue model and spent like a thousand hours contemplating of an idea that effectively milks it, you gotta do something tangible to free yourself from the guilt conscience of having wasted so many months. The time you spent advising people on what is hot and what's not on the the entrepreneurial front and why they shouldn't do this and what's the problem with that. One thing that can give you an accomplishing satisfaction is setting up and hosting a website. There are lots of cheap and effective options for hosting your websites along with free domain names. Yahoo! small business is one good option.

Step three is actually building a website that can be interesting and highly user engaging. With the plethora of enticing web 2.0 technologies and the easy-to-use tools to build them, readily available, you can design impressive websites in a matter of few days. Flash, JavaScript and SOAP APIs can be effectively used to build fun, interactive and relevant websites. Getting users to visit your website and maintain consistently improving page views is one of the hardest tasks on the web. There are dozens of websites trying to accomplish the same goal with varying features and it's difficult to understand why users choose one over the other. At this point in time on the web, it's difficult to come out with an idea that is already not being used by forty five other websites.

Yes, so this is the mission. Starting an online enterprise that has a potential of turning into a billion dollar business. Throughout the course of this blog, I'll try to research options on which business decisions need to be taken, post sample code snippets for mash ups, provide stats that help in understanding your target customer base, and chronicle other experiences in this journey.

Stay tuned.
